Celebrate the winter holidays with hot tango in historic St Louis! This weekend will provide not-to-be missed classes and dancing for experienced dancers in a friendly and intimate environment.
This is a small festival with enrollment limited to 150 participants (including milongas). Pre-registration is required (including milongas). Early registration is strongly encouraged as registration will be closed when the quota of 75 followers and 75 leaders is reached. For followers in particular the festival tends to sell out several months in advance. Once the festival is sold out, we will keep a waiting list in case of cancellations. The festival has developed a reputation for the high quality of instruction and dancing, as well as for intimacy and friendliness. Participants come from all over North America, with at least 1/3 of the participants tango instructors. Last year, the average number of years experience was 6. The atmosphere is informal and relaxed, with an emphasis on social dancing. Good floorcraft will be essential in the milongas. There is no dress code during the festival. A complimentary wine bar with a wide selection of international wines will be available on Saturday night. Sunday evening will feature free microbrewed beer and pizza. Classes are oriented to serious dancers with multiple-years experience. The level will be advanced. This year, Gustavo & Giselle will be offering one of their seminars in conjunction with the festival. These classes will have a maximum of 20 couples, require registration with a partner, and have an extra charge. See Travel & Lodging for special discounts on airfare, hotels and rental cars during the festival. The venue is conveniently located in a studio near the St Louis airport, with nearby hotels, restaurants and shopping. It features the highest quality floating oak floor. A very limited number of privates are available. For more details contact individual instructors. Gustavo & Giselle are not available for privates.-
